Introduction

Alviss combats the spread of
misinformation, disinformation, and other forms of harmful information online with the aim
of protecting democracy and freedom of expression. We believe that it requires an active
public servant to counteract ignorance, lack of information, and the spreading of
misinformation for economic or political motives.
Our aim is to develop theories,
practices, and models that can help counter digital information disruption – the spread of
misinformation, disinformation, and other forms of harmful information online – and to help
empower citizens in various European countries to resist such information by enabling them
to improve their knowledge and media literacy.
Based on the activity and the
committed community, Alviss works to create an objective and informative understanding of
the danger of misinformation and to strengthen the ability and desire of all people to
participate actively and committed to the prevention of the spread of misinformation in our
society.
Alviss is cross-political and yet
independent of political organizations.

Disinformation is driven by both governmental and political actors for political and economic reasons. Influencing the public debate via disinformation with the aim of creating mistrust and harming Western societies, including our democracy and freedom of expression, is the most Western objective of the house that spreads disinformation.
Alvíss (Old Norse: [ˈɑlˌwiːsː]; "All-Wise") is a dwarf in Norse mythology famous for his wisdom.

We are a diverse team of truth-seeking, democracy-loving hell-bent on it
outer space and even in your own backyard. We come from all walks of life and professions and
acknowledges us to the entire political spectrum.
The things that bind us together and make us all troll slayers are our love for
democracy and freedom of speech and our belief in truth wherever it leads us.
Trolls thrive in a universe of half-truths, laced with deception and direct
lies. This is what we all fight for as a team. We fight misinformation with
truth, the good, the bad and sometimes the ugly truth as nothing is perfect.
And we do that with humor and honesty.
